We need to drop the idea that Christ is only with us when there is a stirring of the Spirit, or a spiritual manifestation or when we are in some church setting or on a holy day. In Christ you are holy because Christ is in you and with you because of a finished atonement and the incarnation. Because Christ is in you the trinity is woven into your being.
YOU ARE NEVER EMPTY OF GOD
Leanne Payne who wrote of our need to rely on the constant incarnation of the self with God urges, Believers to live the constant presence. She tells this story. “He celebrated the Eucharist before a crowded church congregation. During the prayer over the elements, I looked up to where he was officiating, and I saw not only him but Christ Himself filling him.
NORMAL LIVED UNION
“My spiritual eyes were opened as in a vision, and I saw his “Spiritual Man,” his spirit in union with Christ, as a little larger than his natural, physical body. Christ Himself was gloriously present in and with this man, and was ministering to us.
REAL PRESENCE IS CONSTANT
“This of course I know apart from any special “seeing,” but for some reason I was allowed to—for the briefest moment—see Him in this dear brother. I saw Incarnational Reality, a thing I would shortly be teaching these same folk about, in hopes that the eyes of their hearts and minds would be more fully opened to believe.” Incarnational Reality is the reality that is the Gift in which all can live. Christ, Father and Holy Spirit are not just near you. They are in you and with you. Union with God has been achieved by Christ for you and us -it’s not earned by us.
